Salma’s Driving Instructor Career Change – In Her Own Words
We asked Salma about her experience of changing career, balancing her training with family life and progressing through the ADI qualification process. Here is what she told us about her journey.
💬 SALMA Story
Why did you want to become a driving instructor?
“I wanted to become an ADI because it was the perfect job where I could use my existing skills — driving — and still have the flexibility to do school runs, be there for my children, and manage family life.
It fits perfectly around being a mum and a wife.”
What were you doing before training with Aceway?
“After getting married and having kids, I was a stay-at-home mum for a few years. Once my children started nursery and school, I wanted something meaningful to do that also brought in extra income. Becoming a driving instructor was the ideal way to stay busy, independent, and help support my family.”
Why did you choose Aceway Driving School?
“I didn’t even think twice after seeing my best friend qualify with Aceway and become an independent instructor in no time! She spoke so highly of their trainers and her experience. So, I decided to give it a try — and honestly, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

What did you enjoy most about your training?
“The training was structured so clearly — easy to follow, sharp, and straight to the point. There was no fluff or wasted time, just focused learning that got real results. I loved that!”
What was the hardest part?
“Getting started was the hardest — finding time between the kids and home life. But once I got organised and made training a priority, it all became second nature.”
What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming an instructor?
“Honestly, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and my family! If you’re thinking about it — do it! And I highly recommend Aceway — they truly care about your success.”
How has this changed your life?
“I finally have the freedom to do something fulfilling in the hours that suit me while still being there for my family. Seeing nervous learners grow into confident drivers is an amazing feeling. I can’t thank Ali and the Aceway team enough for helping me make this dream a reality.”

Salma's commitment to her training resulted in her passing all three stages of the ADI qualification process first time:

After passing Part 3, Salma was able to complete the process of becoming a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor.
