Send us your full postcode and tell us whether you want Manual or Automatic lessons. We'll check which Aceway instructors currently cover you.
It only takes a message — no obligation to book.
New learners can start with our introductory offer:
Manual – First 2 hours £60
Automatic – First 2 hours £62
After your introductory lesson, our normal prices are £34 per hour for Manual and £35 per hour for Automatic. Discounted block-booking packages are also available.
No. The £30 Manual and £31 Automatic hourly rates apply to your first 2-hour introductory offer.
The offer gives you a chance to have a real driving lesson, meet your instructor, experience the tuition car and decide whether Aceway is right for you before continuing at our normal lesson prices.
After the offer:
Manual – £34 per hour
Automatic – £35 per hour
You can also reduce the hourly cost by choosing one of our block-booking packages.
It's a real driving lesson with a driving instructor — not simply a meet-and-greet.
Your instructor will assess your current ability and you'll start learning and developing your driving skills from your first session.
Whether you're a complete beginner or already have some driving experience, the lesson will be adapted to your level.
Most Aceway learners start within 1–3 days, depending on your postcode, whether you require Manual or Automatic lessons, your availability and current instructor capacity.
Send us your full postcode + Manual or Automatic and we'll check the earliest available instructor for you.
Yes. Aceway has female driving instructors available in selected areas of Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Tell us your postcode and whether you require Manual or Automatic lessons and we'll check whether a female instructor is currently available in your area.
Yes. Aceway provides both Manual and Automatic driving lessons across Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Availability varies by postcode, so send us your location and preferred transmission and we'll check which local instructors currently have availability.
Yes. If you're happy with your instructor and they have ongoing availability, you can continue learning with the same instructor.
You can then choose pay-as-you-go lessons or one of our discounted block-booking options.
That's absolutely fine. Aceway instructors regularly teach nervous learners, people lacking confidence and learners returning after an unsuccessful driving test.
Your instructor will adapt the lesson to your experience and confidence level rather than expecting everyone to learn in the same way.
The aim isn't simply to rush you towards a test. It's to help you develop the skills, judgement and confidence needed to drive safely and independently.
That approach also aligns with DVSA guidance, which recommends choosing an instructor who adapts their teaching to the learner and focuses on developing a safe driver rather than simply getting someone through the test.
Yes. If you want to book several lessons in advance, Aceway offers discounted block-booking packages.
For example:
20 hours Manual – £600 (£30 per hour)
20 hours Automatic – £620 (£31 per hour)
We also offer smaller block-booking options if you don't want to purchase 20 hours at once.
We want you to be confident when trying Aceway for the first time.
Book and pay for your 2-hour first lesson. If you're unhappy after the first hour, tell your instructor before the second hour begins and end the lesson.
Subject to our Triple Guarantee terms, we'll refund the first hour you've completed and you won't have to continue with the second hour.
The Money-Back Guarantee is the first part of our Aceway Triple Guarantee.
Yes — if you meet the eligibility requirements.
If you pass the required Aceway mock test before your first practical driving test but then fail that practical test, Aceway will pay the eligible DVSA test fee for your second attempt, provided you meet the full Triple Guarantee conditions.
This is why we don't encourage learners to take their practical test before they're ready. DVSA guidance also identifies being able to pass mock tests and having your instructor agree that you're ready as indicators of test readiness.
There isn't a fixed number because everyone learns at a different pace.
Your previous driving experience, confidence, frequency of lessons, private practice and individual learning speed can all affect how long you need.
There is no statutory minimum number of driving lessons or practice hours before taking the practical test. DVSA guidance recommends focusing on whether you can consistently demonstrate the required driving skills independently rather than simply reaching a particular number of hours.
Your Aceway instructor will monitor your progress and advise you when you're approaching test standard.
No. You can start practical driving lessons before passing your theory test, provided you meet the legal requirements to learn to drive, including having the appropriate provisional licence.
In fact, learning practical driving while studying for your theory can help you understand how road rules apply in real situations. You must, however, pass your theory test before you can book your practical driving test.
Aceway also offers theory test training if you need additional help preparing.
